Spelling Bee
The Pike Valley Elementary and Jr. High Spelling Bee was held on the 20th of January. The kids did a very nice job. It took a little longer this year, as the kids kept spelling their words correctly. Mrs. Saunders had to reach deep to find words to challenge the kids. 6th Grade Cole Stricker came out on top with Jenna Johnson 2nd, Jordan Rousch 3rd, Zeb Sjolandar 4th, Geni Stainbrook 5th, and Makayla Kreie 6th. These students will be going on to compete at the County Spelling Bee.

Pike Valley K-8 Geography Bee
The Geography Bee was held on January 20th at the Pike Valley Music Room. The questions were very tough, but we had a lot of kids do well. It came down to a sister vs. brother for the top two in which Payton Runft beat out her brother Mason Runft. No hard feelings between the two, just a little bragging rights at the supper table Friday night. Here were the complete results for the top 10:
10th Coby Marcuis, 9th Layton Robison, 8th Tristan Garman, 7th Kain Johnson, 6th Danielle Deweese, 5th Dylan Jacobson, 4th Ryne McCreight, 3rd Tiana Sothers, 2nd Mason Runft and 1st Payton Runft.
