1:1 Laptops for start of 2009 school year at Pike Valley High School

This past September, Pike Valley administration, along with Pike Valley’s technology director, John Neal, sat down and brainstormed the possibilities of this initiative happening.  After visits to other schools already in the program, gathering staff input, board member input, and site council input, we were able to put a plan in place to get the program approved.

This will be a great opportunity for everyone involved. Placing technology in both the school and home environments could extend the learning day. This could also be a possibility of other members of the family extending their learning.

Additionally, the program would assist teachers in their learning by providing the same environment for them. By using a laptop at home and at school, it is expected that our teachers would benefit and grow in technological learning giving them the tools to teach our students with 21st Century Learning skills.
